I know how to do elimination but I forgot what to do when one equation doesn't have a number next to the y. Elimination Using Addition and Subtraction. When the signs are opposite you add. When they're the same you subtract. 6x + y = 9 -6x + 3y = 15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if nothing in front of variable, implied that a one is there so what do you think y = in your problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So put 1y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what did you get for your answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just worked it out but I can't get an answer.
