There was no corrupt bargain of 1828, so I assume you mean 1824. The election results that year came in with no presidential candidate having a majority. The election then came to be decided by the House of Representatives, who were swayed by Henry Clay to pick John Quincy Adams over his rival Andrew Jackson.
