how do you write an equation fot the line passing through (-3,5) and (-1,5) and find both intercepts x and y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why not first try to find the slope of the line. \[(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)\]

OpenStudy (experimentx):

use double point fomula y-y1 = ((y2-y1)/(x2-x1))*(x - x1) to find intercepts, for x, put y=0 in equation and find the value of x, that is your x intercept for y, put x=0 likewise

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought to find the slope it was y-y1/x-x1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what did you get with that equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i figured that out.thanks
