How does the story of Frankenstein, How does the theme of Friendship take place?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The friendship theme has to do with Frankenstein's search for a companion throughout the novel. He is a "monster" but his search for a friend is what makes him truly "human." You feel sympathy for this monster. Isolation leads to evil in the case of both Victor and the monster. The monster acts up because he is angry that he has to be alone. Victor, when all alone, had to time to create the monster. Victor can be considered the parent in this situation. He never truly cared for the monster he created which contributed to the monster's destruction. The monster only wanted someone to love him but he never was given that even by his creator.
