In which of the following ways have scientists been able to improve the classification system first devised by Linnaeus in the early 1700s?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Advances in gene and protein sequencing have led to a better understanding of the evolutionary relationships between species. Developing genetic engineering techniques has allowed us to add entire kingdoms to the original classification system. Improved tracking and mapping technology has provided better information on the geographical ranges of individual species. Knowing the complete sequence of an organism's DNA allows us to name it more accurately. i personally believe the answer is the third choice but i am not sure

OpenStudy (blues):

That's a good guess but I think it's probably the first one. Knowing where each species lives doesn't give much info about which species are actually different species. By contrast, advances in sequencing have let us compare genetic material from different species and see how different it is.
