x^2+12x+c ; find value of c

OpenStudy (across):

This is not a well-posed question.

OpenStudy (across):

But if the question is: "Find the value of \(c\) for which \(x^2+12x+c\) factors perfectly," then we're going somewhere.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2+12x+c; find the value of c that makes each trinomial a perfect square. Then write the trinomial as a perfect square.

OpenStudy (across):

In that case, you want to find two numbers \(a\) and \(b\) such that \(ab=c\) and \(a+b=12\). There are infinitely-many such points. :)

OpenStudy (across):

Actually, there is only one! My apologies: I left out the fact that it has to be a perfect square. :)
