It is thought that two prokaryotes combined to form a(n) _______. A. amoeba B. eukaryote C. protozoan D. pseudopod

B

OpenStudy (blues):

This is a very poorly worded question. According to the theory of endosymbosis, early eukaryotes took up and developed a symbiotic (mutually beneficial) relationship with prokaryotes. The prokaryotes became chloroplasts in plant cells and mitochondria in animal cells - but in this case the early eukaryote probably already had a membrane bound nucleus. So two prokaryotes did not combine to form anything.

blues is right, but How i thought of it was that chloroplasts and mitchondria were basically precursors to the eukaryotic cell.
