OpenStudy (lilai3):

Someone hep me please... Architecture: The plans for a new aquarium call for several hallways of exhibits leading out of a circular main room. Because of the size of the tanks that will be used, the angle formed between two adjacent hallways can be no smaller that 65 degrees. What is the maximum number of hallways that can be built leading out of the main room?

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

Wouldn't this just be \(360/65\) rounded down? You have 360 degrees around a circle, and you can put a hallway every 65 of those degrees. Then you have to round down because you can't put a non-integer number of hallways.

OpenStudy (lilai3):

is the answer just 360 degrees - 65 degrees

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

\[{360 \over 65}=5.538...\]So you answer should be 5.

OpenStudy (lilai3):

oh thanks 360/65=5.538461538...dat's wut i got... is da step alright?

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

That looks good. Then you just need to round down.

OpenStudy (lilai3):

oh ya thank you and good night... :D

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

good night.
