Here, the LCD is going to be 17 X 11 because those two numbers have no common factors (since they are both prime) So you would have to multiply 7/17 X 11/11 and then multiply 4/11 X 17/17. That would give you new fractions that have a common denominator. 77/187 + 68/187 Now, you add the numerators and keep the denominators the same to give you a final answer of 145/187 At this point you would try to simplify, but those numbers have no common factors, so that is the answer in simplest form. :)
