if x&y have values y dont other alphabets have values

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they do man! x and y are just what we use to say that we dont know that number, but it is some number that exists. in calculus we use many many different letter both from the english and greek alphabet.

so instead of x and y you could call them g and z. you just make sure to keep track of which is which but it really doesnt matter!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x and y are the most common to use in variables/equations and just like chem said it doesn't matter they are all the same what the letters represents.
