Question on "To Build a Fire" by Jack London. Is my answer right so far? Question: What is the central conflict of the story? What is the source of the struggle? Answer: The conflict of the story is the character's effort to stay warm, and the source of this struggle is the cold setting of the Klondike. I altered my answer, is this correct: The conflict of the story is Tom Vincent's struggle to survive through the frigid cold of the Klondike, which is where the story takes place.

I've never read the story, but can I suggest you omit the part after the comma? If you say Tom is struggling to survive the Klondike, it is already implied that the story takes place there. As for the answer to the question... sorry, I can't tell you if this is correct. Good luck, though!
