sinx=-1/4 find x without a calculator. confused because cant use special triangles 0_0

OpenStudy (amistre64):

are you allowed to use rock paper and scissors?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha what? =/

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what are you "allowed" to use

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the unit circle and special triangles i guess. this is a question i found online though.. so it does require a calculator?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

most trig function require a table or calculator simply becasue they tend to be irrational values

OpenStudy (anonymous):

allright, thanks :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if you can thin of 2 angles that add or subtract or otherside to get 1/4 it might be easier to figure tho

OpenStudy (amistre64):

or otherwise ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you can graph sine and see where x=-1/4

OpenStudy (amistre64):

compass and ruler :)

during tests, you only get the exam and your pencil. so im assuming they wont ask this type of question

OpenStudy (amistre64):
