Suggestion: It would be awesome if you could make it so that each link opens in the same window instead of opening in a new tap.

ICanHelp, I'm not sure what their rationale was behind this 100%, as it was long before my arrival on staff, but from a moderating POV, life is SO much easier because it opens up in a new tab. I can click on links and posts and not lose my place somewhere else, especially if I'm looking up a user while in a chat. While we love making things awesome for you guys, sometimes, the ease for us admins/moderators takes precedence :).

Laura but the modern browsers allow you to open links in a new tab by right clicking and selecting the option to open a link in a new tab :P

Any link that will take you away from the main OpenStudy page opens in a new tab or window (depending on your settings). This is by design, and you'll find many sites, such as facebook, follow the same approach.

Well, Ctrl-Click will let you do the same thing. On a Mac, Cmd-Click will open in a new tab, Ctrl-Click will give you the right-click menu.
