Can somebody define work. I know it's Force x displacement, but what is it actually
So like if I push a trolley with a force of 100N and it moves 5m, what am I working on. Because the earth moves too when I push the trolley.
"WORK" is said to be done when the force you apply on a particular body produces a displacement at any direction to the applied force.
Thanks
work done by you on the trolley here the system involves u and trolley thats it earth isnt affected in any way by it ...if u lift a box upward then u have got gravity opposing ur action in that case u have to do work against gravity which gets stored as potential energy of the box there work done by earth wud be -mgh while u do +mgh work
My teacher said something about newton's third law, so like when you accelerate in a car, the earth gets pushed by an equal force so it moves a tiny bit.
