What are the vertices of the hyperbola

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

usually the vertices on a hyperbola are where it crosses the y axis if it is vertical or where it corsses the x-axis if it is horizontal. (that is for non shifted hyperbola which is not the case here)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in this case, we are dealing with a deathly case of a horizontal hyperbola. Now the center (1,-2). And the veritces correspond to plus or minus 4. So you will have vertices at: (-4+1,-2) and (4+1,-2) =(-3,-2) and (5,-2)

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

yeah right at @lagrangeson so it should be C
