According to Newton's First Law If a body is in motion or is at rest it'll continue to do so until an external force acts on it. If the snowmobile driver throws the ball straight while driving the ball will move with the speed of the snowmobile unti an external force acts on it. If the driver stops the mobile instantly after throwing the ball will continue to move until air friction reduces its speed to zero.
