The antiseptics used for cuts and wounds in human flesh have low surface tension. Why?

well they all have a alcohol based cleansers (which leads to a lower surface tension) to kill germs... but how does the low surface tension help us.. let me think okay i found out.. low surface tension prevents the formation of droplets of the anti-septic liquid, which may block the wound.. it also helps the liquid to spread properly (as I thought).
