the safest way to solve this is add 18x to both sides.
subtract 20 from both sides.

you can double check your answer but substituting in a number you think should work. If x< -2.3 is an answer, then x= -3 should work. But notice that 62 - 18*-3 is not < 20

Sorry, I accidentally dropped the negative sign! This one works, I checked it with many numbers.
