If the radius of a sphere is multiplied by 1/4, what is the effect on the sphere's volume and surface area?

OpenStudy (eyust707):

what is the formula for volume?

OpenStudy (eyust707):

.. of a sphere

OpenStudy (eyust707):

what about surface area?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Volume = (4/3)pi(r)^3....if you plug 1/4 in for r, you get 1/4^3 which is 1/64....so the volume of the sphere decreases by a factor of 64...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

come on now. common sense eh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (eyust707):

not for everyone...
