I don't see that it is given that lines a and b are parallel. Without that, what I am about to write is not true. Assuming that lines a and b are parallel, <4 and <8 are congruent because if two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, corresponding angles are congruent. 5x + 2 = x + 50 4x = 48 x = 12 M<4 = 5(12) + 2 = 62.
