can someone please help me out with 5 problems please????

the problems are Solve for x: x + 4 < 2 the second one is 5x – 2 > -12

You just solve them pretty much like you would if the equation had an equal sign instead of a less than sign. The only difference is that when you multiply or divide by a negative number, you change the direction of the sign. So the first equation would be solved like this x+4 < 2 Subtract -4 from both sides. x+4-4<2-4 which becomes x<-4 For the second equation. 5x-2>-12 Add 2 to both sides 5x-2+2<-12+2 which becomes 5x<-10 Divide by sides by 5 5x/5<-10/5 becomes x<-2
