I have no idea how to solve this.. Let g and f be two functions defined by g(x)=x-8 f(x)=x^2-25 for any real number x. Find all values of x that are NOT in the domain of the function g/f. If there is more than one value, separate them with commas.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

g/f means g or f?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

or g divided by f

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

|dw:1332638012657:dw| now this g/f thing will be undefined at x=8, as then the value of denominator will be 0, and the function will shoot to infinity!! so x=8 isn't in the domain of g/f.
