A tablet of medicine contains two types of medicine with a ratio of 8 to 5. The tablet contains 195 total mg of medication. How much of the greater substance is in the tablet? [Show steps, please!]

crap, I did something wrong >.<, forget everything I SAID!

If there is 5 grams of a for every 8 grams of b we could create a linear equation. \[\begin{align}5x + 8x &= 195 \\ 13x &= 195 \\ x &= \frac{195}{13} \\ x &= 15\end{align}\] At this point you should see how this relationship is established in the equation and using this find the quantity of the greater substance.
