OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do i have to add (c) to make it a perfect square v^2-8v+c

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

c = (-8/2)^2 to form a perfect square Remember squaring a negative results in a positive

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Take half of the 'v' coefficient to get (-8)/2 = -4 Then square that result: (-4)^2 = 16 So the value of 'c' is c = 16
