Do you guys have a list of subjects your users are generally good at? (I'm thinking mathematics or statistics or physics, but, in any case...) Also, do you have a list of supported TeX packages?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, our users are good at a variety of things, it depends on the user, frankly. We're really popular with math, computer science, bio, chem, physics, and writing. We don't have subjects currently, however. As for your second question, @farmdawgnation, @mattfeury, @shadowfiend, or @darthsid can answer that :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand that it depends on the user, but I posted a question about multivariate mathematical statistics and I was wondering if I could expect people here to help me with it. http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/4f6eb0c5e4b0772daa08cd99

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Most of our users tend to be in the earlier mathematics, but I'll come in and ping some of our high math users. One of them may know who to ping for the best help. I am not one of those helpers, however, just to warn you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks. :) Much appreciated.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're welcome. I'm assuming that you're new to the site?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well then, welcome to the site! I'm Laura, one of the admins/mods of OpenStudy. Let me know if you have any questions!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright. Thanks for the greeting.

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Hey noradetzky, I'm one of the developers. The best resources for information on what our LaTeX rendering supports is available from the MathJax homepage: http://www.mathjax.org/ We pull from their servers, so normally as soon as they release a new feature we have it. Do keep in mind, you're not limited to the options we have available in our Equation Editor. You can write LaTeX directly in the reply box so long as it is surrounded with a backslash-bracket pair. Hope you find this helpful!

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

As for math levels, we have a wide range, particularly in math. We have students of all levels, as well as Ph.D candidates in math at MIT, retired electrical engineers, and others. We've had the occasional math professor swing through, as well, though I'm not sure if there are any steady users who fit that description at the moment. Keep an eye out for the top users in math, as many (though not all) of them are qualified in advanced math, as well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Got it. Thanks, green people.

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Haha no problem :)
