Shane planted a vegetable garden in the shape of a rectangle. The vegetable garden is 9 feet wide and 15 feet long. He also planted an herb garden around the entire perimeter of the vegetable garden. The herb garden is 3 feet wider on EACH side and 3 feet longer on EACH side than the vegetable garden. What is the area of Shane’s herb garden? i got a=81 feet 2 (the two is for squared)!, because you find the area of the vegetable garden (which is 135, and the the area of the herb garden (which is 216, with the vegetable garden), and then i subtracted 135 from 216, thus finding the area 81
