Electromagnetic radiations are perpendicular magnetic and electric field waves...then why do we consider it a Quanta AS A PARTICLE ???

OpenStudy (mani_jha):

Electromagnetic radiations behave both like waves and particles, depending upon the situation.

OpenStudy (mani_jha):

We consider it as a particle because it also exists in the form of photons.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bt when we start quantum physics we start with Electro Magntic radiation +Photon isnt it interesting

OpenStudy (mani_jha):

Yes. Experiments like diffraction and young's slit experiment have demonstrated the wave nature of radiations, while photoelectric effect has determined its particle nature. That's why it is appropriate to say that radiations are both particles and waves.
