5^3x + 1 = 25^x + 1

sam (.sam.):

5^(3x+1)=25^(x+1) Create equivalent expressions in the equation that all have equal bases. 5^(3x+1)=5^(2(x+1)) Since the bases are the same, then two expressions are only equal if the exponents are also equal. (3x+1)=2(x+1) solve it 3x+1=2(x+1) 3x+1=2x+2 x+1=2 x=1

\[5^3x+1=25^x1^x\25 \[25^x-5^3x=1+1\] 52x-53x=2 x=2
