Writing 20 Online
OpenStudy (anonymous):

When reading an article that has cited another person's writing, do I cite the original person or the current writer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cite the current writer - anyone interested in your sources can then go back to the article YOU cited and look at the citations for that article if they wish. I suppose the most relevant information for your citations is where exactly YOU got the information from - not where it originally came from.

OpenStudy (jagatuba):

Yes, cite YOUR source.
