The function f(x)=(6x+5)e^3x has one critical number, can someone please help me find it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do i find the derivative set it equal to zero and solve for x? or is that completely not the correct way of doing it?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

critical point is where the function crosses the X-axis, ie intersects it. so guess what?? at that x, the 'y' becomes zero ofcourse!!! so equate this equation with zero. |dw:1332721044594:dw|
