change to exponetial so they have the same bases... (sqrt5)^8n=125^(n+2) (5^(1/2))^8n=(5^3)^(n+2) (5)^[(1/2)*8n]=5^[3*(n+2)] (1/2)*8*n = 3*(n + 2) 4n = 3n + 6 n = 6
