Find the maximum and minimum values of the function on the given interval. Give your answers correct to two decimal places. y = 7ex - e6x, [-1, 1]

can u write it with equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=7e^x- e^3x, [-1,1]

take the derivitive when the derivitive is equal to 0 there will be either a critical point (maximum or minimum) a sadel point (like (0,0) in x^3). when you set the derivite equal to 0 there will be a certain x value for which this equation holds. there can be multiple x values these will all represent a coordinate you then use this x value in the original equation to get its corresponding y value the points that give the highest/lowest value for y will be the maximum and minimum
