Euglena is a protozoo with the characteristic that is able to perform photosynthesis because it carries a great load of chloroplasts. so, although is not a plant, it behaves like one in this way. 
Now, you know that photosynthesis requires sunlight, so its a must, now imagine that you take away the spark that is going to trigger the whole process, we are obviousl left with nothing. no photosynthesis, no nutrients for Euglena to grow.
now that i see that you ask for conclusions, you should have given us the results. such as we detect no more presence of Euglena or the population has decreased exponentially or nothing has happened.
