Given a regular decagon, find the measures of the angles formed by (a) two consecutive radii and (b)a radius and a side of the polygon.

Around the center of the octagon (from which the radii will be drawn), there are 360º. Since an octagon has eight vertices, each central angle must be 45º The triangle formed by two radii and a side of the polygon is an isosceles triangle (all radii are equal). Therefore, the base angles of the triangle are equal. If the vertex angle (central angle) is 45º, then each base angle is 67.5º
