which of the following would not be a likely hypothesis for an expirement testing the surface friction of sandpaper ,glass and gravel if a toy car is allowed to roll down each an incline? A. belive the glass will create the leas amountof friction because it is a smooth surface b. believe the gravel will creat the most friction because it is the roughtest surface. c. believe the glass will create the least amount of friction the sandpaper a medium amount of friction and the gravel the most friction based on their textures. d. The glass we create the most friction and therefore the slow a

hmm.. good question. now what do you think.. if you had to guess with abit of logic?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's between C or D.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

you know what practically glass is like. but of course frictional force will also depend on the other the other surface's material (here the toy car's wheel) for determining how great the opposition to motion would be. STILL. because we assume some hypothesis (which has to be as close to reality as possible), assuming that glass will cause the most friction is the worst assumption of all the four cases and the most unrealistic. so, taking that as a hypothesis could be *catatrophic*!!! so D it is! Good guess! :)
