what professions use the pythagorean theorem?
carpenters...seeing the problems usually involve ladders and walls
anything else? im writing a report
Almost any scientific or mathematical career uses it. Physics and engineering based professions, especially.
specifics would help thanx :)
Pythagoras theorem tells the distance between two points in two dimensional space. The theorem can be generalised to higher dimensions so that the distance can be found between points in any number of dimensions. That's used in more abstract physics and maths.
Physicist, mechanical engineer, construction contractor, aerospace engineers, high school math teachers, astronomers, and many, many more. It's a VERY useful theorem.
thank you!!!!
engineering
this question reminds me of this....
That picture was probably made by someone who has very small idea of how far algebra goes. Algebra sits silently behind a great deal of the technology we use today, and is essential in pretty much all the advancement of knowledge. It's used implicitly by many people. Pythagoras theorem is also used implicitly at many times.
