What problems would you expect to observe in an ecosystem without primary consumers?

First of all, in the absence of primary consumers, there will be too much of plants, and secondary consumers won't benefit from this at all. Overall, the food chain would be disrupted and there will be environmental imbalance.

if primary consumers go dead.. no one to eat the plants.. and no food for the secondary guys.. so the whole ecosystem fails like 'domino effect'
