Determine if the two lines in each problem below are parallel.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x-3y=(x-1)-(y-x) and -2y-x=9

The answer should just be yes or no according to my book.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve each for y: \[y=x+1/2\] \[y=(x-9)/2\] The slope of the lines is the term in front of x(first is 1, second is 1/2), so no they are not parallel

I have one more problem like this... do you think you can help me with it?
