e= 1 + 1/1! + 1/2! + 1/3! +.....

'e' is used in a lot of places, so a 'deep explanation' has several meanings.
What is most remarkable, to me, is that the rate of change of e^x is ALSO e^x. You can define 'e' in this way (as only it has this property).
