What types of nuclear forces determine the rate at which a radioactive material decays?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you should post this is physics forum. i think the weak force is responsible for radioactive decay though, the strong force holds like-charged particles together in the nucleus, not sure if that relates to nuclear decay

nope that helped alot thanks.
