OpenStudy (apoorvk):

In a satellite moving around any planet, the gravitational force is effectively balanced. If an ice cube exists there and melts when time elapses, the shape will: A. remain cubical in shape B. change to spherical C. become oval shaped with its long axis along the orbital plane. D. become oval shaped with its long axis perpendicular to orbital plane.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

I think it may be A or B. but i am very confused with many possible explanations for different options.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

suppose its in a obstacle free path.. what then?? consider an ideal case

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

so it stays a cube??

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

okay.. thanks mate :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would prefer a medal :PP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

id go for a cube

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

okay there you go mate. and i found the solution (i had it somewhere i just didn't remember it). now as the ice melts, due to the gravity being balanced, the water wont fall... but only gather together. now as it melts, to minimize surface tension, they will form a sphere (so that the surface area of the water accumulation is minimised) so it is B. thanks folks, anyways :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ha i told you so i was ight :PP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its B will you look at that i was right :P

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

haha.. yes in your dreams you were :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you questiong MEE!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm its c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Josh it actually B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

According to einstein over there :D
