In The Help, Stockett describes the everyday life of a African American and the decimation they go through. In the book Minny and Abileen were riding the bus with other colored passengers as the bus driver turned to next corner of the street he stopped "colored people off, last stop for you,' he holler in the rearview. 'White people lemme know where y'all need to get to. I'll get you as close as I can" (Stockett 227).  The colored passengers weren't allowed to go further because they have reached their dead line of how far they are allowed to proceed riding the bus. As for the White passengers they were allowed not only able to maintain more of the bus space but were allowed to travel at any locations the bus was taking them.
