please help to solve ∫δ(√((x-a)(x-b) ))dx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

δ is a constant?

OpenStudy (agreene):

if δ(...) is the delta function, I dont think there is a solution, not sure if that is what you mean--so im not going to try and prove something you might not be asking.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry for that. I am asking if it is a constant but saying that it is the answer. but I have not learnt how to solve delta function. Sorry for being unable to help you.

OpenStudy (agreene):

@cocoTsoi It might be a constant, which is why I asked--it could also denote some kind of partial derivation operation... if you are interested in the delta function: http://mathworld.wolfram.com/DeltaFunction.html
