What is a real world example of how you could use the converse of the Pythagorean Theorem?

if the pythagoram theorem is a^2 + b^2 = c^2 then i dont understand what the converse would be. isn't a converse that p1 -> p2 then p2 -> p1 since you can flip around the pythagoram theorem is multiple ways, i dont see how you can flip it around like that.
