This one is definitely True. The Soviets occupied the North and the United States backed the South and the 38th parallel drew the line between them. They were supposed to cooperate and allow the Koreans to establish their own government, but the Soviets reneged on their deal and a Communist regime was set up in North Korea. The US backed a democratic government, so one was established in the South.
