the number line shows 'x' moving towards negative infinity from "-1" onwards. it refers that x can be any value less than '-1'. however, there is a hollow dot at x=-1. this means x cannot take the value '-1' itself. so. answer x<-1 now option B simplifies to the above. so. B it is!
