Well without the video there isnt a whole lot to draw from, but the basic relation is something like this: The renaissance, literally meaning rebirth, caused a great deal of interest in the antiquity (greece&rome), and paved the way for challenging the church. The entire period focused on bringing about new ideas to art such as ratios and perspective (think da vinchi or leonardo) and breaking away from pure spirituality. This schism allowed for a generation of individuals who could use logic as their main method of thinking and challenge the church openly about their ideals. Since the artists had already done so, the age of reason simply built upon their foundations.
