if y= x/(ax+b) den find Yn

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nth derivative of that? Or just the derivative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nth derivative .. Yn

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wow...interesting. Gimme a sec.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok m waiting

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If n is odd-- then Yn = b/ (ax+b)^n if n is even--- Yn = -b/ (ax+b)^n I think so..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm ... it containg 3 marks what to write in exam ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y = \frac{1}{a}\frac{ax + b -b}{ax + b} = \frac{1}{a} - \frac{1}{a} \frac{b}{ax+b}\]Now differentiate it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You will have to show the differentiation up to 3-4 steps...then generalize it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Ishaan94 how did dat come 1/a - b/a(ax+b) ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiplied and Divide by a then added and subtracted b from the Numerator.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He is just split the terms to eliminate the constant "a". Nothing else.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Ishaan94 . hmm :) @Akshat4-10
