Can someone please help me???? I don't understand how to do this! A baseball player gets 2 hits in 9 times at bat. Estimate how many hits the player will get in the next 12 times at bat. 3 hits 5 hits 4 hits 2 hits

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For 1 time, he gets 2/9 hits, so for 12 he would get 2/9*12.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{2}{9}=\frac{x}{12}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x=\frac{12\times 2}{9}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but it comes out to be 2.66 ?!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is why it says "estimate"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, basically it would be 3? If you round

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

Ok, Thank you guys!
