there are 4 possibilities to satisfy above inequality as shown above.i.e
1. x-1>0 3-x>0 x+2>0
x>1 3>x x>-2 to satisfy all 3 conditions 1<x<3
2.x>1 3<x x<-2 no solutions for this ranges
3.x<1 3<x x>-2 -2<x<1
4.x<1 3>x x<-2 no solution
therefore we have the range as -2<x<3 but x not equal to 1
